Interview Mistakes Done by Almost Everyone
#1 Arriving late: You have to maintain your time for your interview. You cannot get late for the interview. Because of arriving late, interview board will think that you are reckless and you don’t care about time. Even there is a chance not to get hired for the job.
#2 Being Lethargic: This one is hard to define but an interview killer. Don’t express yourself that you are not active. Express that you are energetic. Interview board will think that you have enough confidence and that will keep a good impression over.
#3 Being unprepared: It’s very bad to be unprepared. Don’t be fool. Always take a good preparation. Because you cannot answer of any questions what interview board will ask. Preparation will help you to demonstrate your interest in them and the job. You will also perform better in the interview when you are prepared.
#4 Negative body language: Body language is important. Your body is always talks about your expression. If the interviewer sees any bad body language, they will definitely dislike you. Learn some positive body language before facing an interview.
#5 Not making eye contact: Meeting the interviewer’s gaze is essential to making a good impression. If you can’t look your interviewer in the eye it can seem as if you’re lacking in confidence, or even hiding something. I understand that this might be more challenging for people that are shy, but it’s important to make that connection.
#6 Dressing Inappropriately: When you interview a job, it’s imperative to look professional and polished.
#7 Leaving your cell phone on: We may live in a wired, always-available society, but a ringing phone is not appropriate for an interview. Turn it off before you enter for the interview.
#8 Complaining about your former job: Do not talk trash about your former job. The last thing your prospective employer wants to hear is that you are a whiner. It doesn’t matter how bad your previous place of employment was. Try to keep a positive spin on things.
#9 Talking a lot: Don’t talk too much. Just answer what interviewer ask you, but not too less. You will get negative impression if you talk too much. Be careful about that.
